Bülent bey’in eserlerini eşim
ve ben seviyorduk çünkü bizim dünyamızdan uzak değildi. Bizi sergi
salonlarından kaçıran birçok “çağdaşlarından” farklı olarak görmekten zevk
aldığımız, en başta ne gördüğümüzü anladığımız
eserler üretiyordu, “resim” yapıyordu yani.
Yurt içi ve yurdışında
eserlerini sergilemiş, ABD’de kendisini üyeliğe kabul eden Pastel Society of
Bülent bey’in kaybıyla
hayatımızın renklerinden biri daha gitti. Keşke daha sık görüşseydik diyeceğim;

ENGLISH:
We lost the painter Bülent
Turan on April 19th, 2021. (No, not Covid- heart failure!)
Our friendship with the couple
Bülent and Sedef Turan goes back to being neighbours in a summer resort.
Mr. Turan was an artist. Unlike
us and many of our friends who have applied our art to an industry, Mr. Turan
created his oil and pastel paintings with the aim to exhibit.
We appreciated the paintings
of Mr. Turan because we found them to be closer to our understanding of Art.
Unlike many of his contemporaries who drove us away from the galleries, he made
paintings we enjoyed looking at, and a precondition for that was that we understood what we were looking at; he
was creating “pictures” pure and simple.
He exhibited at home and
abroad with distinction, becoming a member of the Pastel Society of America,
from which he has obtained the right to add the letters “PSA” after his name-
as I have done at the beginning of this article.
Bülent and Sedef Turan were a
couple who projected warmth and sincerity, and their views and tastes largely
coincided with ours. Their home was furnished in a taste so close to our own
that we sometimes felt we were in our own domain. The relaxed tone of their
conversation must have contributed to the effect.
With the departure of Mr.
Bülent Turan we have irretrievably lost another color in our lives. I am moved
to say “if only we had seen them more frequently”; the longer we live, the more
life fills up with these “if only”’s!
