LÂLE'YLE BİRLİKTE BAÜ'DE SUNUM- PRESENTATION WITH LÂLE AT BAÜ

Köşemize çekilmişken İstanbul Bahçeşehir Üniversitesi Çizgi Film Animasyon Bölüm Başkanı Sn. Nazlı Eda Noyan'dan bir sunum yapmak için davet aldık. Aslında bir mülakat olacaktı, bir baktık sunum yapacağımıza dair bir afiş yapmışlar. Internet'te bulunan güzel bir fotoğrafımızı temel almışlar.  

İyi ki kabul etmişiz; her ne kadar bizim dönemimiz geçmişte kaldıysa da genç öğrencilerle karşılaşıp onlarla konuşmak güzel oldu, gençleştirdi. 6 Ekim 2025'te gerçekleşen sunum için 40 kadar öğrenci toplanmıştı. Planlanmış bir sunum yoktu, rastgele başladık, öğrenciler akıllıca sorularla yön verdiler. Yabancı öğrenciler olduğu için konuşma İngilizce yapıldı. Herkes anlıyordu, bu da sevindirdi.

Bahçeşehir Üniversitesi öğrencileriyle, biz arkada afişteki pozu taklit ediyoruz.

Yeri gelince birşeyler gösteririm diye bilgisayarımı götürmüştüm; biraz gösterdim, faydası oldu, ama konuşma yoğun, sorular sık olduğu için ve ben kolay paniklediğim için aradığım örnekleri hemen bulamıyor, bazen atlamak durumunda kalıyordum.

Lâle ile ortak çalışmalarımızdan örnek göstermek iyi olurdu ve hatta Lâle Renaade'dan sahneler göstermemi de önerdi- muhakkak o sandalye sahnesini temizlemenin zorluğu hakkında söyleyecekleri vardı. Ben bulmaya çalışırken yeni sorular geldi ve o kaynadı, içimde kaldı. Onu burada aşağıda telafi ediyorum.

Lâle ve ben, Hahn Film, berlin. 1995-96.

1995-96 döneminde  Berlin'de Hahn Film'de çalışırken Lâle de araresim ve temiz çizim yapıyordu. Renaade yeni önerilen bir diziydi ve onun tanıtım canlandırmalarını yapıyorduk. Renaade'nın dansı için müzikâl film klâsiği Singing In the Rain'deki bazı dans sahnelerinden ilham aldım, oradaki kanepe burada sallanan sandalye oldu. 

Aşağıda Renaade için bazı canlandırmalarım Lâle'nin temiz çizimleriyle. Sonunda bir renkli de var. Amiga bazlı test programının görüntü kalitesinin kusuruna bakmayın artık!

An invitation from Nazlı Eda Noyan, the director of the Animation Dept. of Bahçeşehir University in Istanbul, to make a presentation for their students prodded us out of the quiet of our retreat. First it was to be an interview but suddenly there was a poster announcing a presentation- based on a nice photo of us that they found on the Internet. 

It was a good thing we accepted; even though our time is over, meeting young students was nice, rejuvenating. About 40 students had assembled the presentation on October 6th 2025. There was no planned presentation, however, we just dived in and the students guided us along with intelligent questions. Because of the presence of foreign students the presentation was conducted in English. Everybody understood, and this made me glad.

With the students of Bahçeşehir University, at the back we are aping the pose in the poster. 

I brought my computer along in case I needed to show some material; I showed a few, and it was useful, but because the dialogue was intense, questions kept coming, and also because I panic easly, most of the time I couldn't find what I was looking for and had to skip.

It would have been proper to show some work we had done with Lâle and she even requested I show scenes from Renaade-  she most certainly had something to say about the difficulty of cleaning up that rocking chair. As I fumbled to find the scenes new questions came in and the conversation shifted elsewhere. I have rectified that neglect here, above.

Lâle and me, Hahn Film, Berlin, 1995-96.

Lâle and I were working at Hahn Film, Berlin, in 1995-96 where I was animating and she was doing clean-up and inbetween. Renaade was a proposed new animated series and we were producing animation to introduce it. For Renaade's dance I was inspired by some dance scenes in the musical classic Singing in the Rain; what was a couch in that film became a rocking chair in my animation.

The clip above contains some of those Renaade scenes, animated by myself and cleaned up by Lâle. There is a scene in color at the end. Excuse the poor image quality of the Amiga based linetest system.
