Bu sene de yeni yıla yine Türk canlandırma camiasından arkadaşlarımız ve aileleriyle birlikte girdik, bu sefer Erhan-Leylâ-Peri ailesinin evinde. Yine güzel bir toplantı oldu, sayıları gittikçe artan çocuklar sesleriyle büyüklerin sohbetine neşeli bir fon müziği oluşturdular.
Müzik denince Erhan ut üzerinde maharetlerini gösterdi, Üsküdar'a Giderken türküsünün tuzu biberi Başar'ın vokal eşliği oldu. (Videoklip'de duyabilirsiniz.) Erhan alaturka ile kalmadı, Beethoven'in 9'uncu senfonisiyle Albeniz'in Asturias'ını da yorumladı. (Bunlardan ikincisi videoklipte var.)
Ben yılbaşı geleneğimi yerine getirdim ve yeni yıla masa başında canlandırma yaparak girdim. Erhan, cintiq'e geçtiğinden beri kaldırdığı masasını benim için tekrar kurdu, bunun için bilvesile tekrar teşekkürler! İki seneden beri elimi değmediğim "Ergenekon'dan Kaçan Tavşan" temasına döndüm, (Bkz. "Yeni Yıl 2015", 12 Ocak 2015) bu sene nihayet Ergenekon'dan çıkabiliriz ümidiyle!
Ama kurtuluş çok yakın değil gibi. Biz arkadaşar birlikte hoşça vakit geçirirken aynı şehrin başka bir yerinde bir terörist bir gece kulübünde eğlenenleri silahla tarayarak 39 kişinin canını aldı, 70 de yaralı bıraktı.

Once again we entered the new year in the company of our friends in the Turkish animation community and their families. This time the venue was the home of Erhan-Leylâ and Peri. It was as pleasant as our reunions usually are; the voices and racket of the ever increasing number of children provided a cheerful pleasant background music.
Speaking of music, Erhan displayed his proficiency on the lute. Başar added special spice to the traditional Üsküdara Gider İken ("On My Way to Scutari") with his special rendition. (You can hear it on the videoclip.) Erhan did not stay with traditional Turkish, but moved to Western music as well, with Beethoven's 9th and Asturias by Albeniz. (You can hear the latter on the videoclip.)
I stayed true to my tradition of animating as I go into the new year. Erhan set up his animation desk again for me; it had been put away since he moved on to the Cintiq- this is an occasion to say "thank you" again for his troubles. I animated "the bunny breaking out of Ergenekon", a theme I had not touched for over two years. (See: "2015 New Year", 12 Ocak-January 2015.) The choice was an expression of my hope that this year we all finally break out of Ergenekon.
It seems it will be some time yet before we do break free: even as we friends were enjoying each other's company, elsewhere in the same city, a terrorist mowed down the celebrating crowd in a nightclub, leaving 39 dead and 70 wounded.
